Kennington Park was South London’s first public park. In 1848, the Chartists held their mass rally on Kennington Common. Six years later, the Common had been enclosed, and opened as a park.

Local historian and chair of FoKP, Marietta Crichton Stuart, will lead the walk. She’ll share stories of revolution, royalty and “model houses for families”, fountains, fitness and spies, plants, politics and play.

Meet outside Prince Consort Lodge (Trees for Cities) in Kennington Park, SE11 4AS at 2.30pm.This history walk is part of Lambeth Heritage Month. It's a free walk - no need to book.
